Topic Highlights in Term 2A

The Year 7 topic for this term is called, “Unsinkable.” Through this topic we learnt  about the Titanic. In Literacy we wrote newspaper articles and Haiku poems, we plotted coordinates to create a Titanic image in Using Mathematics and we created our own Popart images of the famous ship. We had great fun carrying out various science experiments involving ice. We hope you enjoy seeing our highlights.

 Highlights of Term 1B

7RR Term 1A Highlights

7RR have had a very busy Term 1A in all areas of learning.

In Using Mathematics, we particularly enjoyed plotting co-ordinates to create a picture of a Spitfire plane from WW2. We used multi-link cubes to solve problems relating to volume. The Izak9 resource was a favourite in the class where we explored patterns in multiplication tables.

We have been practicing our spelling, grammar and comprehension in Language and Literacy. Everyone enjoyed using the modal verb spinners to create exciting sentences. We especially loved working in groups to write a short playscript.

In our PE lessons we have been very lucky to have Ronan, the IFA coach, deliver our lessons. We have really loved taking part in all the fun skill building games and activities to practice our ball control, throwing, running and jumping skills.

Our topic this term is called “Keep Calm and Carry On” and looks at conflict in our world past and present. A particular focus has been on WW2 and we have loved learning about evacuees, rationing and the London Blitz. It was great fun creating our silhouette pictures of the London Blitz.

The Mona-Lisa was our inspiration in Art as we created our own self-portraits using pastels.

We are really looking forward to returning to school after half term and continuing with more fun and exciting activities.
