Nature Colour Hunt!
Our first day back to school was so much fun. We went on a nature walk to look for signs of spring around our school. As we walked around the pond we spotted so many frogs!

World Book Day in Year 2 was so much fun! We created our own book cover and blurb. We also designed a jumper and hat for Rupert in the story ‘The Hueys in the New Jumper’. We love reading in Year 2. Have a look at some of our favourite books.
Bear had an itch and it was no ordinary itch! The story of Itchy Bear tickled all of Year 2’s imaginations this week as we made bark rubbings, measured the area of the characters and investigated what happens to Gummy Bears in water, salt water and sugar. We had so much fun!

Year 2 have loved learning all about the story ‘Stick Man’ this week. We made our very own stick men and thought about different ways that we could use them.

We have really enjoying Term 1B in Year 2, learning all about toys. We explored how toys move, old and new toys and even how toys are made.

Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning. Here, at Ballymoney Model CIPS, our Primary 2 children engage in practical but meaningful activities to allow them to explore mathematical concepts. Here is what we have been learning throughout term 1A.
Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. During term 1A Primary 2 have been engaging in a variety of literacy tasks. We loved writing instructions about how to make a paper dog, Supertato and a rainbow plate.
Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider world, but themselves. In Primary 2 we have been learning all about our 5 senses through outdoor play.
