Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning. Here, at Ballymoney Model CIPS, our Primary 2 children engage in practical but meaningful activities to allow them to explore mathematical concepts. Here is what we have been learning throughout term 1A.
Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. During term 1A Primary 2 have been engaging in a variety of literacy tasks. We loved writing instructions about how to make a paper dog, Supertato and a rainbow plate.
Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider world, but themselves. In Primary 2 we have been learning all about our 5 senses through outdoor play. We drew self-portraits, went on listening walks, made our own music and much more! Have a look at the video to see what we’ve been up to!
Play Based Learning
Playtime in P2 is precious. Play builds brain pathways for thinking, creativity, flexibility, empathy and many other lifelong skills. We have been exploring our 5 senses during PBL. Have a look at some of the things we got up to.
